Taste Keeper ("we", "us", "our") operates the tastekeeper.dev website and Taste Keeper mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address for authentication and communication purposes.

Photos & AI Analysis

When you upload meal photos and choose to analyze them with AI, the following data is sent to OpenAI (openai.com) via their API:

• The food photo(s) you select for analysis
• A text prompt describing the analysis task (e.g., "identify this dish and generate a recipe")

No personal information (your name, email, or account details) is included in the data sent to OpenAI. According to OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted via the API is not used to train their models.

You must explicitly consent to AI data sharing before using the analysis feature. You can revoke this consent at any time in your account Settings. Photos are stored securely on our servers and are not shared with any other third parties.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers. Stripe collects and processes your payment data in accordance with their privacy policy.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the service
• To analyze your meal photos and generate recipes using AI
• To process subscription payments
• To send account-related emails (password resets, invitations)
• To enable sharing and collaboration features you choose to use

Third-Party Services

• OpenAI — processes meal photos for recipe analysis (Privacy Policy)
• Stripe — processes payments (Privacy Policy)

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by DigitalOcean. We use encryption for sensitive data (API keys, passwords) and HTTPS for all data in transit.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with the third-party services listed above, which are necessary to provide the service.

Your Rights

You may:

• Access, update, or delete your account information via the Settings page
• Delete your account and all associated data via the Settings page
• Revoke AI data-sharing consent at any time via Settings
• Export your recipe data

Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
